Madjid Bougherra's strike for Rangers against Dundee United in December was awarded the Goal of the Season

Rangers and Northern Ireland midfielder Steven Davis has been crowned the PFA Scotland player of the year.

The 25-year-old has been a key force for Rangers as they won the Scottish Premier League title and the League Cup this season.

Davis beat team-mates David Weir and Kris Boyd to the award, as well as Dundee United captain Andy Webster, who is on loan at Tannadice from Ibrox.

Rangers manager Walter Smith was named manager of the year.

It was a third such award for Smith, as he added to his Scottish Football Writers' Association and SPL gongs.

Defender Danny Wilson, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, was named young player of the year.

Davis joined Rangers in August 2008 from Fulham for a fee of about £3m.

"He's been, without a doubt, an outstanding player for us this season," said Rangers boss Smith.

"I ask him to play slightly out of position and he does so without complaining. He's a quiet lad but he's got a great deal of determination about him."
