Rangers' Inverness visit to stay

Rangers' Scottish Premier League opener against Inverness Caledonian Thistle is set to remain on Saturday 4 August.
The Ibrox club expressed concerns following speculation that it could be moved to Sunday afternoon or Monday evening to accommodate Setanta Sports.

But Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett said: "Rangers have told us they have a Champions League tie on the Tuesday or Wednesday.

"It would be ridiculously unfair to ask them to play us just days before."

Bennett said that Rangers manager Walter Smith had been particularly concerned at the suggested switch to benefit live television.

"We've told Rangers we're happy to stick to the Saturday," he said.
