Sony Bravia Picture Prob

I've had my Sony Bravia KDL-40V3000 for a couple of years now, and I've noticed very faint thick(ish) white vertical lines on the screen.

You don't really notice them sometimes, but sometimes on darker pictures, or watching football (the pitch shows them up clearly), you can see them, and it's annoying.

I'd like to know if it's on it's way out, or, what's maybe wrong, so that when I phone to get it fixed they don't palm me off with some sh1t like, "I've never seen this on one of these before, it's something you must've done, blah,blah,blah."
