somethings against kazaa spyware

Here are 2 useful instructions to rid the spyware that comes with Kazaa by replacing the cd_clint.dll file with a dummy and increase your max search results to 400 instead of 100 which is standard.<br />If you was not aware, as wonderful as Kazaa is, they watch what you do closly then sells your information to companies along with your email address who in turn place "custom" pop up ads on your computer. Also a big bonus is by doing this "hack" you will greatly decrease all your pop ups and banners while surfing.

To get around the spyware issue go to this site below and follow instructions.

And then after your done, do this below and it will give you 400 search results instead of the stock 100

1. Run regedit.<br />2. Goto: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Kaaza/Advanced<br />3. Find DWORD value "MaxSearchResult"<br />4. Double-click on it, switch to decimal input, and enter 400.

Now you will get a lot more search results than the program's "maximum" of 100.

Nice one but one small problem I cannot find the advanced folder when following your instructions

it seemed to have stoped the spy software but even though i changed the dec fig to 400 in reget......kazaa....advanced there is no way im getting 400 choices.. I have tried some of the most populkar searches and getting no where over 100.. I have rechecked and the figure is 400 in the brackets

Taff were did you find the advanced folder i dont appear to have it but as you say the add blocker works a treat

ALLROAD you are going to have to forgive me if im wrong but im going to give you step by step instructions......Dark Angels instructions were very accurate so I was a little confused and I suspect you might have got lost so bare with me..<br />1..go to start on taskbar<br />2..up to run and enter regedit and click ok<br />3..click on folder hkey current user<br />4..click on folder software<br />5..click on folder kazaa<br />6..click on folder advanced<br />7.. double click on "MaxSearchResult"<br />8..click in the decimal option<br />9.. change data value to 400<br />10. click ok and return to service.....

Now I hope this helps.. if not we will work on it..the credit for this goes to Dark Angel but as of yet I can see no results....

Thank you people I have blocked the adds and spyware which is great but even when I follow your instructions Taff there is no advanced folder in the kazaa directory

got another idea...after run regedit..go in the menu and search for MaxSearchResult.<br />That may find it.
