3.4e will always delete the save. u need to downgrade to 3.2e then install starfall.

mplayer in homebrew browser dvdlib edition plays xvids off dvd, samba share or sd. well.
dont take any updates, starfall protect u from full brick if u on 3.2e and have the twilight hack save on ur Wii m8. read up m8 theres loads of threads on this stuff here
is the net needed to softmod? i cant remember i know it was used but can remember when? couple of mates want theres done but they dont have the net yet. All they want is it for backuploader

I bought my new Wii yesterday (3.3E) and had in mind to install a modchip to run game backups.
After reading all this stuff about softmodding I'm planning to install a softmod instead.
Is there any risk involved (like bricking my Wii) if doing so?
Do I understand it correct that I still need to buy a copy of Zelda first to install the Homebrew Channel?
And that the next step is to install the Backup Launcher to run game backups?
Sounds easy!
Why do I need things as:
- a custom IOS or CIOS: what is it, and what does it?
- WAD manager: necessary or not? (where does 'WAD' stand for anyway?)

nice first post ....
everything u need is in the softmod stickie. nothings risk free but no one here has bricked their Wii yet, except me but i recovered as was on 3.2e and had starfall installed.
who cares what wad means?
u may be on 3.3ev2 which is slightly trickier than 3.3e v1

start straight away, you will need an original copy of Zelda to install whatever u need to .
when done u can goto 3.2e using wads then install starfall, if starfall wont install run cios_fix and Ios Downgrader v1.

Even 'Super Smashbros Brawl' which gave some trouble running on modchips.
This softmod is awesome!
So much easier than installing expensive modchips.

Mate, u will be a lot safer if u install the 3.2e wads, run cios_fix and Ios Downgrader v1 if needs be then install starfall all options.

I found Starfall v0.5 which can be installed via Homebrew Channel I presume.
But where do I get the 3.2E wads and how do I install them?
