After installing this, I've updated a few things and hopefully made much it less confusing or worrying for those trying this on their shiny new Wii's and are clueless about what to do .....
Updated Homebrew channel to 1.0.1
Added Mii channel updater
Added the WADs to play NFS Underground and Animal Crossing
Added Opera Browser channel
Added the backup channels to force NTSC or PAL, if you need them
I also converted and rewrote the installation guide to a Word .doc file and added it as a PDF and added the CIOS error codes guide I found for anybody having WAD install issues
Its also been formatted to be easily printable so each A4 page is nice and easy to read without the instruction spreading onto different pages
I've also expanded and tried to make clearer all the installation instructions, adding more detail if its too vague and adding notes if things appear to be not working and hopefully how to fix it
This has been tested on our Wii and installed on two others with no issues at all and every game I tried worked perfectly, I purposely upgraded ours to 3.4 firmware and deleted all channels and then downgraded it back to 3.2 firmware to check and verify the 3.4 firmware installation. I also installed and checked the 3.3 firmware installation before upgrading
There are two links, I have separated the updates to two installers as this was confusing some people to what to do when it was one big file, Just download wither both or just the one you need and the copy the entire contents of what is inside that folder to your already formatted SD card
E.G.
Open the 3.3 Firmware folder, and copy everything inside it to your SD card. I use a filemanager so have to remember people are still using explorer, which makes life a 100% more awkward and difficult to see what you are doing when compared to filemanagers like Directory Opus which I use or Total Commander
If its a new card it should already be formatted, a 256MB or 512MB card is plenty if that all you intend to use the SD card for, they are very cheap now but a lot of places are now selling just 1GB card. eBay is a good place to look
I had one faulty card recently out of a small batch I ordered so if you get an error saying the SD card is not recognised when its in the Wii try another one, if that works bin the faulty one
SoftMOD-3.3Firmware.rar -- FileFactory.com - free file hosting --
SoftMOD-3.4Firmware.rar -- FileFactory.com - free file hosting --
Just click the link, and choose the FileFactory basic optioh, unless you have a FileFactory premium account. Then enter the 4-digit code when asked, wait a couple of seconds while it gets the file and then you will be asked where to download the file
If somebody can point me to the speedup WAD that makes backups load at x6 it would be appreciated as I'm looking for this I found mentioned elsewhere, then I can install and check this as well and add it to the next update if useful. PM if need be as apparently it contains code that is not really supposed to be there, so isn't that easy to track down
