There are a few apps which won't function on a jailbroken device iBooks was one that until recently wouldn't on ios5 (until a redsnow update came out that is) Skype tells you that it doesn't support jailbroken Devices but it still works ok
I suppose maybe apple could require all new apps that are submitted not to work with jailbroken devices but as it isn't illegal to jailbreak I suspect it could be dodgy grounds maybe?
Pretty annoying as skygo used to play happily on 4.3.3. Jailbroken
If you receive the error message "Unknown error - please restart the app if this error persists, or try again later" after updating your Sky Go software on your iPhone, this may be because your iPhone has been jailbroken. We have recently improved security measures as part of our contractual obligations to ensure content protection, therefore Sky Go is no longer supported on jailbroken devices.
What is jailbreaking?
Jailbreaking is the process of removing the limitations imposed by Apple on devices running the iOS operating system, such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It allows users to gain root access to the operating system, so that users can download additional applications, extensions, and themes that are unavailable through the official Apple App Store.
Jailbreaking your device can put you at considerable risk by invalidating your warranty and exposes your device to malware. We’d like to make you aware that using Sky Go on a jailbroken device also puts you in danger of exposing your Sky iD and personal information to 3rd parties.
