Overview
Great news – we’re opening up the 3D channel (217) to ALL HD customers for a short time. That means even if
customers don’t have Sky World, they can still catch amazing 3D action at NO EXTRA COST
When will this be available?
Friday 27 July to Sunday 12 August - All HD customers will be able to catch Eurosport’s coverage of the Olympic Games
in 3D
Monday 13 August to Monday 20 August – All HD customers will get the chance to catch some of the other
fantastic 3D content on offer including Documentaries, Sports and other Entertainment. Here are just a couple of
examples:
 David Attenborough’s Kingdom of Plants 3D – Tuesday 14 August at 8pm
 First game of Barclays Premier League Season - Saturday 18 August
 Isle of Wight festival highlights – Thursday 16 August at 12pm
 Manchester United vs. Everton – Monday 20 August kick-off at 7pm
Is Movies included in the Sky 3D Free Week?
No, Sky Movies isn’t included. This is because of the agreements we have in place with the Studios. Any existing Sky
World customers will be able to view Movies content through Anytime during this period.
What do customers need to do to set this up?
Absolutely nothing! It will happen automatically. All they’ll need is a 3D TV in 3D viewing mode and connected to their
Sky+HD box to view the content.
Can non-Sky World customers view any recorded 3D content after the Sky 3D Free Week?
Yes, HD Customers will be able to play-back any 3D content they’ve recorded during the 3D Sampling Week, as long as
they keep their HD subscription active on their account.
If customers want to continue enjoying 3D after the sample period they just need to contact us, either through
Interactive (red-button) online or through Service, to take Sky World and activate their account for 3D.
The 3D Sampling Week applies to direct-to-home customers only and not Sky Business customers.
