Had to do a recovery on my desktop running xp as windows 7 kept freezing but now when i go into device manager my sim bus controller has a yellow question mark next to it and windows cant find a driver to install.......nothing drastic but its annoying me to think its not installed lol any ideas

This is a great web site to find any unknown devices you may have, then you can hunt for drivers.

Goto device manager, right click the device you are trying to discover then click properties, click the details tab.
scroll down to either Hardware Id's or Device Instance Id (depends on OS)
In there you should see something like this

PCI\VEN_1524&DEV_1410&SUBYS_blah-blah

The bits you are looking for are after VEN_ and DEV_, in this case the Vendor is 1524 and the Device is 1410.

Now go here:
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.
In the Vender and Device fields enter the values you noted and click search, it should come back with info on the device.

In this case it's:
0x1410 CardBus Controller 0x1524 ENE Technology Inc
