So I have a Cyclone Micro 2 player which is tops, but its local USB hooked up to the TV.

I have been looking at the various network media players around and they all do much of a muchness. But it struck me this morning, why not just buy a shuttle PC.

I was in the market for a new laptop, albeit for processing blu ray rips a bit more rapidly. But Vaios (yes I was looking at Vaios) are well pricey!

So I am thinking, how about just buy a decent Shuttle PC. Run a linux or ripped down version of XP. Knowing that it will play my MKVs but also have the ability of internet in the lounge and the functionality of a PC.

I dont particular need such a high spec pc and if I can get a shuttle PC that would do the job I am sorted.

The quest starts now for a decent HD shuttle.
Any recommendations

Have you thought about getting a Revo ?

If you don't need an optical drive the Revo is the way to go.

If you do need an optical drive then you need to weigh up the cost of the Revo (Linux) + external DVD against an HTPC setup.

another option would be an corperate SFF PC for around £100 then put in a £30 HD video card.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will check them out.
Heard about these revos before, optical drive not really necessary. Cool
I will check them out!
