Self Service Beer in pubs on the way

We have a pub in Plymouth which already has a self service pump! Unusual for Plymouth to be ahead of the game! ;o)

I kind of like this idea as long as the staff regulate it properly,by checking on the amount you drink, behavioural problems, and under age drinking it could work but is this a sign of cutting down on staff and saving on wages?. I really hope this idea works for the general public and not to disheartening for staff, when this Government puts them all on the dole.

digital worldz christmas night out could be fun and cheap

I can see it now.

"Please place your beer in the bagging area"

"You have beer in the bagging area you haven't paid for"

"Please wait for an attendant"

"Please wait for an attendant"

"Please wait for an attendant"

"Please wait for an attendant"

"Please wait for an attendant"

Get outa here - glass under nozzle, handful of cash in slot, job done...

...bit boring if you can't even talk to a landlord :(

Had a couple of beers in there lunchtime...but ordered the old fashioned way

Anyway for these things you get a tab card from the bar and take it to your table and off you go, you can order your food browse the net and play music

Wonder how long before the tab cards are cloned

also wonder how it is metered surely its got to be metered just over a pint as all pints poured there is little spillage
and there could be some sercurity risk as to when and how your card is charged

just out of curiousity, is it a wetherspoons pub?
