Removing MSM "My Sharing Folder"
For Those of you that have installed the latest version of MSN Messenger,
or Windows Live Messenger as it is now called,
and have probably noticed that it installs a link in My Computer
called "My Sharing Folders".
If, like me you dont use this feature.
or you just don't like the way it dumps a shortcut under My Computer,
you can remove it by unregistering the Messenger File Sharing Shell Extensions dll.
In Windows XP do this by going to:
start > run, and typing in:
regsvr32 -u -s "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\fsshext.dll"
:STIG:
===========================================
In Windows Vista do this:
Start> Run and type 'regedit' and browse to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE> Mirosoft> Windows> Current Version> Explorer>My Computer> Namespace
and delted the key called {FC9FB64A-1EB2-4CCF-AF5E-1A497A9B5C2D}
Then go onto My Computer, right click and select refresh (If needed)
And all is gone!
