CD & DVD Recommended model of DVD Write

Whats the recommended model of DVD burner these days?

Last time I bought one Plextor was premium and Pioneer was most popular.

A little out of touch.

Also same question for BlueRay burners? Recommended model?

DVD I'd go for Pioneer.

Not sure about BD.

yep go with pioneer never had any problems excellent writers probably the same with blu-ray!

Another vote for the pioneer here, specially at the price they are now, don't last as long as the earlier models imho, but that's maybe just me.

I've had Pioneer dvd writers for years without problems, but when buying Blu-Ray I went for LG (main for cost reasons). I have written lots of DVD's and quite a few Blu-Ray's (both made up from vids on the net and copies of films ripped directly from disks and downloaded) and had 100% success.
