Rear Projection - Toshiba 42WH38B - no pic but sound

Poss one for DD.

mates asked me if i know what would cause his RP TV (Toshiba 42WH38B) to suddenly go.

He gets sound but no picture...

never worked on a rear projection before but would i be safe to say the lamp has gone... ??

if not im assuming as there is still sound could be the powerboard for the projection unit ??

anyone with any history on theses

On my old 50" Sagem DLP, when the bulb went the entire TV refused to boot.

The bulbs have a little starter thingy, I can't remember the nbame of it but it works kinda the same as the invertor in an LCD monitor.
