Claudio Ranieri has resigned as manager of Italian Serie A side Parma.

The former Chelsea manager is expected to eventually take over at Manchester City, who sacked Stuart Pearce at the end of the season.

The 56-year-old Italian took over the struggling Parma side in February and guided them to safety, with a 12th-place finish.

His impressive stint has reportedly convinced the City board he is the man to take over from Pearce.

Does anyone know why on earth would he want to manage Man City ?

Thing is if he takes over at Man City surely Parma would take legal action.

He has resigned from his club whilst under contract. Normally when managers change clubs a compensation package must be reached between both clubs. Raneiri has walked and lookd like he'll go straight into the City post. Parma wont be happy about that at all.

He has 1 month left on his contract mate and has'nt actually resigned yet, just turned down a new contract, city's next manager depends entirely on the proposed take over, its a 120 million pound bid and if it goes ahead means city will have no debt and 60 million to spend unlike united who are 800 million in debt, as has been shown by united and chelsea, you need to spend plenty of cash to buy the title.... Won't buy em the champions league though, not with kaka around,,,,lol.
