ive got a multi voltage power supply unit which came from maplins,the voltage is dc switchable
12v,15v,16v,18v,19v,20v (4.5A),24v (3.75A),usb port 5v (1A)
i was wondering if i got one of these 4 way CCTV DC Power Supply Splitter Cable for 12V PSU | eBay would i be able to connect two cctv cameras,dvr recorder,and a dm500
using the psu ??? the cams,dvr unit dm500 are all 12v dc,or would i need a psu with same voltage but with more ampage

tia...

The PSU must supply more amperage (since voltage and resistance are the same value) than what all the devices require.

cheers abu il drop the dm500 and use that with its own psu,and just have the 2 cams and dvr unit using
the psu in question and a dc power splitter

the cams need 500mA 2 cams=1A as for the dvr unit theres no sticker but im guessing it wont be much more then
a dm500 about 2A

or do you think i should get summat like 12v dc 10A then il be able to run dm500 aswell ????

im just tryin to minimise the amount of psu where it all is

the power supply you have should have more than you need
you need 1 amp for both cams and 2 for the dream leaving you 1.5 amp spare
the dvr unit might take more as i am guessing it has a hard drive in it

yeah dvr unit has a hdd (300gig) will give it a whirl when i get the power splitter

ive come across some specs about the dvr unit and lookin on it
Power supply: DC 12 V / 4A

so it looks like im gonna need a 12v 8A psu
2xcams = 1A
dm500 = 2A
dvr unit = 4A

and maybe an extra 2 watts just to stop you running the psu on max

hmmm it does look like summat in what i need but the terminals just a bit
daunting being exposed knowin my luck il electrocute me self lol
are these ment to go into a box
