PSP v2.01

Nephew has a psp running 2.01 he played games from memory card before his younger brother got hold of it. Memory card has disappeared so he got new card Sony High Speed 2gb. But now stuck as to what to do with it. Looked into it I'm a bit baffled. So question is do i Downgrade the 2.01 to 1.50 or upgrade the psp to downgrade to 1.50.

make sure your battery is 75% + charged.
format your memory stick before you start and between each process.

to upgrade to 2.80 (first link) connect your psp to pc via the USB cable and goto the PSP\GAME folder and make a new folder inside called UPDATE in capitals and put the 2.80 sony update EBOOT.PBP in the UPDATE folder.
then run the update from the game menu / memory stick on the PSP.

read the "read me" files included in the 2.80 downgrader and the 3.52 M33 installer. they will explain what you have to do

but he will need a PSP with custom firmware to do it on first.
cant create the pandora battery with 2.01

im guessing when he use to play games from the memory card he was on 1.5 using devhook and since then has upgraded to 2.01

Could of upgraded to 2.71 and used the red screen way of downgrading. But all the same result really.

the patch when installing custom firmware is the kxloit patch. which lets you run all homebrew on 1.5. needed for the 3.52 M33 updater
the 2.80 downgrader patche's idstorage key 5 if the board is a TA-082 or it will brick.
