Premier Christian Radio will launch on Freeview on August 30, it has been confirmed.
In a press release, the station said:
"Since Premier was launched nine years ago; we have broadcast primarily on Medium Wave to listeners in the London area. One in five Christians in the region listen every day. However, despite the support of the Christian community and numerous outside broadcasts in Birmingham, Manchester and at Christian events around the country; the only consistent access Christians outside London have had to Christian media has been via the relatively expensive satellite and cable networks Sky and ntl."
The station is asking for donations towards the £300,000 cost of carriage
