As a new Owner of a Playstation 2. I was wondering what the deal is with getting it chipped<br />Being able to play region 1-6 DVD's & can you play VCD's?

Just if someone could let me know the in's & out's of what possibilities I have as I have no idea?

looked at the info on web site but it all seems a bit scary to me

Dont like the sound of opening up my box. also this will affect my warranty, wont it?

When I got my ps2 I had a 5 yr warranty incl. so is there any way that you can get something that's external & will do the same jobs<br />Or is it possible to open up the ps2 fit the chip & if owt goes wrong remove it, without the shop that sold me ps2 knowing<br />please help

i only know the 2 ways to chip the ps2.<br />thats with the 8 pin modchip or the usbmod and both of them require u to open the ps2.

if u get the ps2 chipped right there should be no reson for u to take it back to the shop. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

there is a way of telling if u have had ur ps2 chipped ie:-brakeing seals,looking at solder points on board just as there was ways of telling if u have had ur psx chipped.thats the chance u take. <img src="graemlins/helpme.gif" border="0" alt="[helpme]" />

its got to be better than paying 40 squid's for a game <img src="frown.gif" border="0"> <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

use the hair dryer trick to heat the waranty sticker so it comes off and get it chipped and then replace the sticker . if u have to take it back for any reason ask for a full refund, im sure they would rather give u a replacement than ur money back.

So then.................

After looking at everything it looks as though the neo4 chip looks the best<br />so what i have to do is take the sticker off by using the hairdryer,fit this little baby in & then replace the sticker<br />and away I go. <br />Problem is where can I get this done or is it easy enough to do myself?<br />I've heard that they are making some sort of chip-clip, is this right? Does this make the chip easier to fit? <br />does any1 have anymore info?<br />Also does this chip let me do everything that I wanted to do originally - see 1st message

It's all a bit new to me but i'm willing to learn<br />How do you get hold of the games,DVD's etc once you've had the ps2 chipped?

apparently they re quite hard to fit and dont always work. I d wait for messiah if its imminent.
