PIN Codes for Xtraview/Red Hot TV?

Hi guys - this is my first post on these forums, so I'll start by saying hello... Hello!

My question. As we all know, the Xtraview and Red Hot channels on Freeview are PIN protected, which you need to call the premium rate to get the code.

It would appear that the 'viewer number' on screen that is used to generate the code is simply a 7-digit number that increases by one every time someone selects the channel.

Therefore, when you call up and enter this code, all the system is doing is using this 7-digit code, and somehow using an algorythm of some sorts, turns it into the 4-digit PIN code that is required to unlock the channel for viewing.

I'm not one of the lucky ones with the Nokia box so that I can manually amend the PID numbers, so I'd like to know if anyone knows of a PIN generator or something like that?

Once the algorhythm is cracked, it will be a walk in the park.

I've had a go myself, but I am the least mathematical minded person in the world!

I've got the 'viewer ID' and also the PIN code that was generated from it as an example if anyone wants to try to get their head around it. :)

You're gonna need data for this. What you need is to start logging Viewer codes by obtained 4 pin codes.

Once you have this you might be able to solve the algorithm however I note that you state the Viewer number increases by one each time the channel is accessed - is this also the case for each time you turn over? If it increments by one each time then it might just be a case where a certain code is needed per day - the number could be being used as just a range to tell them you're on their channel - they just give you the code or one of a number of codes that unlock the channel when you phone up.

Well to get the ball rolling, here's my Xtraview Viewer ID/PIN combo from yesterday.

Viewer ID - 3402908
PIN Generated - 4049

And it would appear that the Viewer ID changes every time you access the channel, which would indicate that the PIN code is totally generated via the Viewer ID.

If anyone else has Viewer ID's, and generated PIN's they'd like to share for research purposes, then post away! ;)

that's the way Jaz lets get some data - unfortunately I only have sly but I'll help if I can.

Well 4, 0 & 9 appear as does the second 4 by multiplying the last digit by the 4th. It's not gonna be that easy but thats the sort of patterns you need to look for. Of course it could be, and more likely to be a complex equation to obtain it.

OK, well I'll get another code tomorrow and we'll see if we can spot any early patterns.

The pattern changes each day, and it is possible to work out the code (from a dump of the mheg code using a digi-TV card since it contains the three numbers used to generaste the codes) - the hard part is trying to predict what the next day's one is.

From yesterday

1400005 PIN is 4444
1411119 PIN is 3333
1422223 PIN is 2222
1433337 PIN is 6666
etc

Its a simple substitution table (current codes for this week)

The Viewer ID is comprised of a day code (first two digits) four active numbers and a final check-sum digit.

If anyone is good at finding patterns then have a go

The generating codes are (T1) 230948167 & (T2) 234806957
Note they are only 9 digits long but are unique and so the tenth digit (but might not go at the end of the number???) has to be the unused digit (e.g. 5 for T1)

From these you need to create the following substitution table

0123456789
4326089517

I welcome solutions (by PM if you like). I can test working solutions with codes from different days.

those pin numbers just don't look genuine to me ... odd they are same digits and not a combination

perhaps a few more days and someone might be able to work something out ... but don't hold your breath

seems a lot of work just for 1 channel .... lol

This week there is a single look-up table for digits, that's why they are the same - its different for different weeks.

No point waiting a few days, the algo changes in 2 days time : bat :

It's not about the channel - I've had access to it each day for last week and only watched one half hour prog on UKgold

There are a number of keygens out, and many are only partial - the ones that expect input of a hash table. The ViewerID/PIN is coded via a combination of Pin order, look-up, and shift rotations. These have been used in various combinations over the last month or so. Not all keygens use all the systems - ones that do tend to use data from the vcg.mhg rather than inputing interpreted data (like pin orders and tables)

Does anyone know what is todays code?

-Hash Table
-Pin Order
-Look Up

???????????????????????????????????

No ones probably got it if the algo has changed from the one the keygen did work with. Posting on several threads won't get it any faster!
