Panasonic TH-42PX70B plasma tv

I have a Panasonic TH-42PX70B plasma tv which I have linked up to my sky remote control the
problem with it is that I cannot turn the tv on or off with the remote this is also the same with remote control that came with the tv having said that all the other functions on both
remotes work but I have to manually turn the tv on and off anyone shed any light on this problem

Hi mate you first need to press the TV button (top left of your sky remote)to operate your TV on and off then press sky button to go back to using to operate your sky box.

If the problem happens with both Sky and original remotes, it would suggest the issue is with the TV itself. What I have found with Panasonics is that they don't go to standby immediately, you have to hold the power button for a good second or two before the TV reacts.
