openbox x3 stops responding to remote

I have this openbox which works fine for a little while and then the remote control does not work. I have tried another remote but it still doesnt work. After resetting the box the box starts working with the remote again. Within a few minutes the box stops working yet again. Has anyone else had this problem?

Most likely the sensor in the box has become faulty. The sensor stops responding to the remote.
