Hardware New Server

Hi,

I have just treated myself to this HP 704941-421, UR482E ProLiant MicroServer N54L bundled with 3 Year NBD On-Site Warranty | ServersPlus & was wondering if anyone has got any recommendations what OS to put on it? Will be running it as a nas & sharing with some friends by Plex.

Should also say have got a Zyxel NSA221 with 4tb HD in it full of films and TV shows which will be put in the server.

running Win7 on mine as its what I'm most used to, though there are plenty of options.

I've got a 5450HD video card in mine and had it hooked it up to my TV for media playback as well as storage.

Might struggle to do full transcoding of 1080 from what I've read.

Tempted on server 2012 or win8 to utilise the storage spaces functionality, as you mentioned it will be used as a NAS.
