New R4 card, out the box and problems

I had a 8GB Micro SD.

I just got my hands on a R4, and wanted to play some games on it.

I went to:

R4 SDHC-Revolution for DS-NDS,NDSL,CleanROM

downloaded the latest kernal, applied it to the card, and tried to no joy

All i get on the DS is a "menu ?"

The one I purchased is the R4 SDHC which apparently can take 8GB?

Anyone point me in the right direction? Am gonna look through the stickies, and forum, to see if i can uncover more knowledge.

wrong software u got mate....take a pic of card and box if you can and ill sort u out......
 
ok try here m8 there is the fireware for the normal version and the christmas version good luck

Indeed, i dont think it was the standard one, i think it was a R4 SDHC, hence 8gig compatitibility.

Although I know there is a R4i now?

I have just ordered an AceKard 2i, so hoping this will replace the R4, but still would like this working.
 
acekard2i is the best card for dsi so far m8 ( well i think)

Just done this, and seems to have worked, I now get a R4 loading screen, but nothing hppens?

Now I have just downloaded the games engine to my PC, wondered if I need to put any nds on first?

What would the R4i do without any games?

My just showed loading and got stuck on that?
 
Sounds like wrong firmware or missing some files!
For selecting which firmware you use, match the R4-sdhc and the web addy it gives on the box!
Extract and Load all the files from the .rar file onto root of sd , then create new folder named 'Games'.
Copy the .nds files into the games folder and see how you get on!

The link on the box is r4i-sdhc.com, as:

R4i SDHC Revolution for NDSi/NDSL/NDS

i downloaded the non v1.4, which is where the problem occurs, I unziped to the root of the SD. No NDS as of yet to the card, thought I would ensure it works first.

I am downloading the R4i v1.4 one now, but cant see that one working, can only try?
