They way I worked it out was

10011010
=156

156/16 = 9.75
16*9 = 144
156-144 = 12

So 9 12 = 9C

10011010
=154

hex is 9A
???

Yeah, I was putting in a 4 instead of the 2 for the binary, my mistake

154 is correct, I was converting 10011010 as if it was 10011100 without even noticing, and I done the same mistake every time I repeated it and for some reason I didnt notice untill I typed out 128+16+8+4 and realised there wasnt a 4 in the binary.

Anyway, your right it was 9A

looks easy but just done fun but just getting 1- 4 ok and blank on 5 & sub channels must be missing something can i pm someone my readings and wot i got it at??

If your getting the normal channels then that usually means your boxkey and ird are fine, double check your keys perhaps?

cheers all had it for tonite i`ll check keys in morning thanks again for all your help

Mate, your doing it the hard way. Get the calculator from windows (programs, Accessories) set it to scientific, on the left, tick the Bin circle, then tap in box key 1 (your first reading)
e.g.... 11010001 11110001 11101111 01011001 and then tick the hex circle..... which will give you this....D1F1EF59...
Then clear the screen, set it back to Bin, tap in box key 2, convert to hex and this is the second part of your BK, then, hey presto there you have it.
With both readings (1&2) you read them both left to right, NOT BACKWARDS

Depending on which led simm you have, with the switch set to the middle, this will give you your ird, if you have this type of simm, you could read the ird from the simm, then compare it with eng menu or scart, just so that you know that you are doing it corect...

Hope this helps

I mentioned above above about reading the left to right, i have since found out that this is the new type simm and should be read right to left as mentioned earlier in this thread.
I do apologize peeps
