CNX will launch on the Telewest digital cable service this week,
reports that CNX - part of the Turner Broadcasting bouquet - will launch in the Supreme package on channel 148 on January 15.

Other channels launching on that date are FTN, from Telewest's content division, Flextech - on channel 123 in the Starter pack, and UK Bright Ideas, from the UKTV stable of channels - a joint venture between Flextech and BBC Worldwide - on channel 263 in the Starter pack.

At its launch in October 2002, CNX was available on Sky and ntl but not on the Telewest platform. Both Telewest and Turner Broadcasting remained quiet on negotiations but it certainly appears that a mutually acceptable deal has finally been struck.

CNX launch on Telewest confirmed

Turner Broadcasting System Europe this afternoon confirmed that CNX will launch on Telewest tomorrow (Wednesday January 15).

CNX - which offers a mix of anime, live action programming and films - will be added to Telewest's Supreme digital cable package, which is taken by around 450,000 of Telewest's 829,000 digital cable customers.

Gavin Patterson, MD of Telewest Broadband, said: "Customer feedback has shown that there is real demand for CNX. We are delighted to add it to our channel line-up ensuring that we continue to offer customers the best range of quality content and excellent value for money."
