so does the rest sound good enough? going to uni in September and thought it'll be cheaper to build a new system with a dvb-c card then to buy a cheap laptop, tv and cable box.

what do think about this, dont really want to pay any more.

yeah all looks ok for a uni computer. just make sure the psu good enough to handle it all....£16 for a case and a psu cheap ...and might be sub standard for what you need.

Hi mate spec looks ok.

Personally i wouldn't bother with a floppy drive. I would swap that for a internal card reader portable memory is much better than floppy.

Also do you really need a dvd-rom and dvd+/-rw??

As for the monitor for about the same price you can get a 19" widescreen : 5ms response from www.aria.co.uk. In fact before you buy have a look at there super specials section you might save yourself some money.

I think Trashuk is right also that power supply may not be up to the job i would be looking around the 500w sort of range to power your system..

Hope this helps..

I know PC's are the best for uni, but get your self a laptop

good points are

Can take it to uni and connnect to wifi to do your work, library, lectures etc

Go to your mates house to have study sessions ;)
