Apologies firstly if that thread title is confusing - I'm not even sure how to word the problem.

Basically I have two Wireless Homeplugs (TL-WPA281's). There is one on the 1st floor and one on 2nd. The problem I'm having is my phone or laptop keeps connecting to the one furthest away (1 signal bar or sometimes none). Even when I'm standing two feet away from the one I actually want it to connect to. Sometimes it even connects to the right one but then drops out and ends up connecting to the one furthest away.

Is there a way to make devices connect to the best available wifi?

They all obviously have the same SSID so I don't know how to tell my laptop to just connect to the one I want and stop picking up the poor one. I wouldn't even mind if the laptop only connected to one of them permanently since I don't really use the laptop anywhere other than in that room or outside the house.

Any help with this will be much appreciated.
