Hi guys a good m8 of mine is moving from a pure n*l area to Watford which is shown in the n*l area finder as the Bromley (ex cable & wireless) platform.

A few qustions
can he use his 4001 and when i do his card do i use n*l hex?
will we need to change his frequency and if so to what?
will his net id change automatically?

Sorry to sound stupid but i have only ever dealt with my area which is pure n*l

It's unlikely that he will get the 4001 to work on ExC&W Bromley platform.

Why is that is it the wrong type of box?

The 4001 is a DAVIC box or Langley Platform (Original NTL) box.

It probably won't get a NetID or lock properly in a Bromley area.

Oh fook

What box will he need to work properly on the bromley platform?

Without reprogramming the TSOPs:

DiTV1000
DiTV1000 Phase 1b
DiTV2000
Di4000N

Di1010T Phase 1b (this is a TW box but updates to C&W firmware instream).

The Samsung will work too but the DAVIC ones may need a firmware update.

There are more TW ones that will work on ExC&W but it involves some soldering and a programmer :).

Ok cheers Spectre

thanks for all your help, looks like is over to fleabay to try and get a 4000.

This may be of some help , i am in a 41060 area and did a sammy from here for mate in watford.
When i checked his area with dslzone checker it said he was a bromley code.
The box was sent to watford with the netid set but still would not recieve channels.
I ahve the box back with me and have since found from the subbed box in his house that the net idis 41051 not bromley as thought.

Cheers for the info Lance

Do you reckon if i just pull the red jumper and plug the box into the feed without a card it might set its own frequency and net id the box is a pace 4001n.
If this does work then i can just do the card for him no probs.
