Just watching A year in the wild (Canada) and the temp was -50. Lol

I'd like to experience -50 ans +50 (only for 10 mins each) just out of curiosity.

Does such a place exist, where you could pay for such punishment? :)

Hi mate from someone who travels a bit i've been in near those temps. +47 in dubai in august and it was that hot that unless you go into the pool by 8am it was not worth going in. Any other time is was like swimming in a hot bath. Tried walking in it and my young son nearly passed out and we had to get a taxi back to the hotel

On the other hand we often go to canada and one time heading up into the mountains to ski it got down to -29 air temp. The gondola had frozen windows and my scarf froze to my face with my breath. When we tried skiing down the hill i lost feeling in my feet and had to leave the other half to ski off quick and get next to the fire. Usually down to about -20 is usually enjoyable.

Haha that sounds quite harsh.
I've only experienced local temperatures, like +30 and -5 (max)

Always wanted just a taster of extremes lol

To add insult to injury when we where in dubai it was ramadam and we felt obliged to not drink in the open during daylight. That was hard going.

Yea, South Wales.
I think I'd have to get myself up nearer to Inverness for the -20s :)

A friend of mine has hardware shops and he called 2010 "The year of the snow shovel".
That doesn't even ring a bell for me. We hardly ever get anything in Swansea. The only time i remember it coming to a standstill for best part of a fortnight, was back in 82. Lol

I think 2010 when that snow came in we had travelled to manchester airport the first day in a taxi we only just made it, the snow came in and we sat for 7 hours in a little ba plane trying to take off for london. We missed out flight to hong kong but they put us on the next flight lucky it was within a couple of hours, after we got out the snow followed us down and heathrow shut. We had taken a stop over in hong kong so managed to get back on track and flew to nz. I watched in amazements as all the airports shut down for days maybe a week.

I can't do hot weather due to a medical condition, but a few years ago we were in Chicago when it reached -32.

In December 2016 we did Route 66 from L.A. to Chicago (L.A. was +24 Chicago was +10) and then on to Niagra Falls for New Year, we were expecting it to be cold but we barely had to wear a coat as it only went down to -10.

It was the winter was 2009 / 2010, I remember it well as I had just met my wife who comes from Texas and told her that it does not snow in London. I picked her up from Heathrow on 10th December in the middle of a blizzard and then the car broke down on the M25. God knows how she trusted me enough after that to marry me LOL. I still do get teased about it never snowing though
