If i remember correctly, the UK is on 60hz, and US is on 50? Is there any advantage to it being higher or lower?

Uk is 50 hz I believe the USA is 60 hz so you are back to front mate

I remember my YTS in the TV/ Video repair shop. Apart from the ntsc colour system in the state's, the video head's had to spin at 60 hz to get a pic.

Not totally right avid. The Yanks may use 60hz for their electrical system but they only use 110-120 volts whereas we use 50hz at 220-240 volts. Our voltage is twice as big as theirs
