mac filter question

Hi guys managed to get my wireless adapter working with xbox 360 i had to have all security down, now heres the problem. The xbox 360 sees the connection as wired therefore i cannot access wireless settings to enter a wep key so wep is a no no security wise.Next option is mac filtering so i added mac of wireless adapter and xbox 360 set it to allow tested connection on xbox and it fails. Obviously i dont want to run it with no security enabled what so ever so is there somthing im doing wrong mac filtering wise? if not i guess my only other option is to have security up when not using xbox and turn it off when i am which isnt ideal. any ideas ? thanks in advance

Your post is all over the place.

A few questions:

1. Does the Xbox have a wired or wireless Network adapter

2. Do all the other Systems that connect to the network function as they should (not including xbox)

if you read my post again it says (i have managed to get my wireless adapter working with my xbox 360)


secondly xbox is only wirless device connecting to my network

perhaps you should read it again

You dont put the wireless settings in the xbox.

You would have

ip addy xxx.xxx.xxx.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
gatway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx < Router addy

then on your wireless adaptor

ip addy xxx.xxx.xxx.100
subnet 255.255.255.0
gatway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx < Router addy

and all your wep settings
