Longitude Question

Hi Guys

Just got myself a motorised dish.

However I am a little confused with regards to longitude & latitude.

Satpointer gives me these details

Location on map
Latitude: 52.044°
Longitude: 1.1235°

My Postcode is IP2 9NW if that helps

But How do I know whether I am east or west / north or south ?

Any help appreciated

Are you east or west of the Greenwich/Prime meridian?
Are you North or South of the equator?

Google earth will confirm, but I think you're east, and I'd bet my house you are North.

Google your postcode + lattitude or postcode + longitude .......

Lots of info there if you're UK address

Latitude and longitude coordinates are represented as decimal numbers. The latitude is preceded by a minus sign ( – ) if it is south of the equator (a positive number implies north), and the longitude is preceded by a minus sign if it is west of the prime meridian
