I am about to J-tag a box for the first time, using K22's Tutorial. I notice that on my box there are 20-pins on the board where the 20- solder points usually are. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to buy a plug for this (so that I can solder to the plug)?

Maplins sell them i think why dont you solder the wires to the pins:)

Thanks Ferg, I'll have a look into Maplis. The reason for the plug was that I'm thinking I might have to do it again and a plug on both ends might be neat!

Hi you must be lucky most Starview boxes dont have the pins already in the best way is to buy the socket from Maplins and hard wire them to the pins There are only 6 connections and then if and when you have to JTAG again the plug will fit all you have to do is get the earth/chassis return pin correct and the rest should fit if you do it carefully
Only 6 connections are required so once the plug is made up it will work on any Starview
