Hi, i've just changed all my music from 1 NAS drive to another (buffalo to QNAP)
so all the tracks on itunes, all 25193 of them have got broken links.
i'm looking to keep all my music in the same folder structure and track info Ratings/play count etc, as i use these in my smart playlist.
is there an easy way to do this without letting itunes control my music?
Is there any apps i could use?

running XP pro and iTunes 8

and why don't we have a iTunes section???

thanks in advance

You definitely have them all on the NAS?

If you do, you can either delete all the tracks from iTunes and add the new folder or get iTunes to fix itself

all files are defo on the NAS (itunes folder is in my music)...

i don't wanna delete everything and start again as i use my info in smart playlists.
so how do i get itunes to fix itself???
done loads of google searches but every guide i get is for doing it with itunes controlling the music, and thats neva gonna happen....

(oh, and are you stalking me??? :))

if you try and play a track that is broken, iTunes should prompt you to search for it again.

That is going to take A LONG time for 25,000 songs.

I would say it would be easier just to dump your new NAS folder into itunes, can't see why it would lose your smart playlists

if i do that it just duplicates the tracks...
