you can download certain cracked apps for free rather than paying for them on itunes, thats the only use i can see for it since 2.0 allowed app installation

I just got my lad a Touch but I thought the firmware on the new ones wasn't able to be 'altered' by Jailbreak apps ?

His firmware is V2.2 I think
