hi,

there are quite a few shops selling these so called dreamboxes which you get all channels including paid for ones like sky movies and sky sports. is this illegal or would i be ok using one of these boxes

The boxes themselves are not illegal, the part where they are saying you'll get all premium channels free without paying the providers for a valid subscription is most definitley illegal.

oh ok. thank you. i was under the impression that they will be streaming of a server so it was legal. just like watching football matches online, etc...
