Just downloaded Lord o Rings over IRC. Took 8 hours for 2 parts 3.2gb altogether. Disk 1 and 2 was in part 1 and disk 3 and 4 was in part 2. Very dissapointed to find that just one rar file was missing from disk 4. Do you think that some of these guys do this kind of thing on purpose sometimes cos Ive had this sort of problem before using irc. Rather than try and download the full disk 4 again from elsewhere I had a scout around the newsgroups and as luck had it I came across the file in question which just happened to be of the same size, name and format and only took a few minutes. Not only that, there are always Par files available from the newsgroups in case of errors. I always feel a bit uneasy when downloading files of this size without Pars to back them up. Plus I always get flat out speeds from the newsgroups. Very underated are the newsgroups I say sir.
