Suggested to me along with LTQ which is slow as hell but smarters seemed better but buffers a lot and often locks up so I have to restart the app, any suggestions as an alternative ?

Buffering is more likely your isp or supplier connection. Have you tried Tivimate? @parker13

Make sure you've got HW on with smarters, it makes the connection more stable.
