Hi Can anyone help or put me in the right direction?

Iphone 3GS
IOS 4.1 (8B117)
Baseband 6.15.00
Unlocked Sim O2... Originally Orange
Serial **945
Model MC131B
Jailbroken
SHSH 4.1,5.0.1,5.1.1,6.0.1 Cydia

What my problems is that my IOS is on 4.1 but when i ever seam to download a game i need 4.3 above, i want to upgrade my IOS but i don't wanna loose my my unlocked sim service or brick my phone

Is there anyway of doing this or i'm i stuck?

My phone must know i'm looking to play around with it, i'm now getting a error message, when i try to download apps through installous i get a invalid ipa

Anybody have any idea how to sort that

Any help would be much appreciated on both subjects

Cheers
Mark

because you have shsh blobs saved you can update to 5.1.1 (do not update to 6.0.1)

you can do it using the latest redsn0w: https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/293103/
you will need the 4.1 and 5.1.1 firmware files, ive recently done a iphone 4 on 4.1 and can confirm it works.

because you have the ipad 6.15.00 baseband i would also suggest you create a custom firmware with redsn0w to preserve the baseband or it will corrupt and you will then need to reflash it or you will get "searching" or "no service"

3gs 4.1 firmware: http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/061-7939.20100908.Lcyg3/iPhone3,1_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw
3gs 5.1.1 firmware: http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS5.1.1/041-4347.20120427.o2yov/iPhone2,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw

download these with firefox or google chrome (inet explorer downloads them as zip files)

follow the tutorial posted by biffo to get to 5.1.1
then jailbreak the phone: https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/286956/
then unlock it: Unlock iOS 5.1.1 With Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 (Old Basebands Only) | Redmond Pie

you could also downgrade your 6.15.00 baseband to 5.13.04 so you have working GPS again, you can do it after you have updated to 5.1.1
http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-do...05.13.04-baseband-for-unlock-and-working-gps/

5.13.04 is also unlockable with ultrasn0w, and if your going to downgrade the baseband then it wont matter about creating a custom firmware as i mentioned above, because you will be flashing 5.13.04 anyway

ipa errors are common with installous, it's nothing to do with the jailbreak/phone

i couldnt honestly answer that mate, there are several reasons i could think of but every one of them could be wrong

Step 3: Download the firmware you’d like to restore to and also download the firmware you are currently on from here and place them in the “Jailbreak” folder

i just follow the tutorials as there wrote....and they work.

Download the 5.1.1 made it custom through redsnow then put it into DFU mode, loaded up itunes then got Error 1602 on restore
Not tried the other ways yet, just wondering if you knew why i could have got the error code

You use Redsnow to restore/update to 5.1.1 not iTunes. Follow the tutorial by buffo .
Oh and by the way back up any photos/music/apps etc that you want to save because it will wipe then

Not sticking? Plz explain the problem
Did you let Redsnow get your shsh blobs?

Redsnow stopped working, then eploit failed or something

Did you run it in admin mode?

Sorted it, i forgot about the compatability mode, i've now loaded 5.1.1 and baseband 5.13.04, i've also jailbreak and unlocked the carrier

Thanks for your help
