Nothing atm on any transponder when active I get 80% Signal Quality on my 90cm dish,

When I first received signals a couple of weeks ago I thought they were coming from Eutelsat 48C @ 48 east but I was advised that the signals came from Intelsat 10 /PAS 10 Launched 15.05.2001

So it should have enough fuel for geo orbit but may now be inclined orbit Data stream 11579 H 2105 is active most of the time so I will have to check every few hours to see if it is still active here.

Just check it out again nothing this is the footprint for Europe Ku band that I was receiving earlier.

Some of the transmissions from Intelsat 10 are broadcast in DVB-S2/16APSK, DVB-S2/32APSK, non of my satellite receivers can receive these even the data stream that i reported before has since changed to DVB-S2/8PSK ACM this may be one of the reasons why I cannot receive this anymore,

I will try blind scanning the satellite every couple of hours for the next 10 hrs to see if any transponders spring into life as the one mentioned by mdt when active can be received by all satellite receivers.

my mistake @merlin i thought it was a brand new bird as it had just fired up tv transponders but its near the end of its lifespan as you stated. maybe @zorch can have better luck with his rolls royce dish, regards mdt

Hi mdt, Merliin et al,

I've only just seen this thread... so I thought I would test reception with my dish...

Signal Quality 49%

***Edit***
Signal Quality now 53%

I'm now doing a full 'Blind Search Scan' to see if there's anything else to find on this satellite... ;)

Hi Zorch,

Damn you and your unfeasible incredible Fibo once again not a sniff here on my poor relation Gibertini LOL

Regards

Just done a blind scan & only getting 11479 V 2700 id=Service 02 60% quality from 47.5 east with TM5402HD with 90 cm dish as my 100 cm dish just gets this transponder but due to the roof I cannot get a better signal atm will try to raise the motor & dish when the weather warms up & see if i can improve my signals east,
Nothing on 12.602 V transponder.

Hi again all,

I'm wondering if this satellite is actually in an inclined orbit... look at my current Signal Quality reading... and it's still going up...!!

I would imagine that this transponder might now be visible to more dishes over 1 metre

***Edit***
Signal Quality now at 63%

Best Wishes
Zorch

I have been informed that this satellite was inclined but the data at n2yo does not reflect this,

Your signal readings Zorch suggest an inclined orbit I will check again to see if I can get it.

Having another go with the 90cm & TM6900HD Super decided to take the software back on the 6900HD to 7.25p May 6th 2010 and the signal bars & Blind Scan are more responsive than the latest patches for this receiver,

'Signal Strength/Signal Quality' bar readings... meaning you either get a signal lock straight away or else the 'Signal Strength/Signal Quality' bar readings stay restricted around 8%-11% and consequently they don't accurately reflect the actual/true 'Signal Strength/Signal Quality' readings that are being received by the tuner...

This adaptation on the newer patches is totally useless to satellite enthusiasts (like myself) who are trying to find 'Fringe Reception' satellites and their associated transponder signals... that's why I still use Phantompatch 117 as this was one of the last patches released that doesn't employ the aforementioned restrictions...

The beauty of the older patches is that you can see how close to a signal lock you actually are by looking at the 'Signal Strength/Signal Quality' bar readings and you can then tweak your dish quite accurately to a position where optimum 'Signal Strength/Signal Quality' has been achieved... thus indicating that you have indeed positioned your dish on the desired satellite... this is the only way of finding 'Fringe Reception' satellite positions when there are no transponders that are immediately lockable...

Re Zorches comments above on the latest issue for the TM5402HD:

So I have fitted an A/B switch & now use the 5402HD for watching tv & assigned the old TM6900HD to transponder searching & at 4:30 this afternoon it paid off,

I managed to nudge the motor to get a higher reading on the red signal bars & they turned green & blue 46% quality for about 15 min I was able to watch the channels on 12602 V 27500.

I have included a photo below of the channels stored no signal now ignore the USALS sat reading wip on the set up atm,
Also managed to raise the 100cm about 2 cm to no avail for IS-10.

Alkass SNG2 is active 11474 V 2700 encrypted.

46% quality on TM6900HD

12602 V 27500 red signal bars very active atm may not be long before I can lock onto this signal again with the 90cm

Signals clearing at 4:30pm I think to watch 24/7 I would need an inclined orbit tracking device on my 90 cm set up.

46% quality on TM6900HD

12602 V 27500 red signal bars very active atm may not be long before I can lock onto this signal again with the 90cm

theres also service 02 11.478v 2.700 blind scan misses this on my receivers unless i do a detailed scan, the mux starts getting stronger around this time here and i can lock it at around 3.30.

Hi again all,

@11.00am

I was tweaking my dish position on this satellite and surprisingly I managed to get a signal lock on the latest transponder/channel to be added... however the signal on this transponder/frequency was very erratic and I kept losing the lock and subsequently the associated TV channel picture kept freezing and disappearing... but I just had enough time to take a few pictures...

Hi again nelsonb,

also ok for me here tonight in the north west -- tonight 8.40 pm
using 1.2 channel master into M3 Skybox

Very strange... my signal on this transponder disappeared completely around 7.00pm

Signal Strength and Signal Quality on this transponder/frequency are both a bit higher and less fluctuating this morning... and the associated channel is much more stable... there's still an occasional freeze and loss of signal but these are very brief and far between...

hi -
Out at work this morning so unable to compare -
thick cloud and drizzle here tonight - still locking 11665 V though (surprising) but with some picture breakup.

cheers

hi -
after shocking weather all day here, the skies are now very clear -
a blind search revealed 11477 V 2700 (encrypted) - its holding a lock ok but only just above threshold.
cm 1.2 dish into M3 skybox .

back to red button glastonbury coverage for the evening now i think - :)

cheers -

Hi again nelsonb,

There's actually two feed transponders... they scan in with different PID's... but as far as I can see they show exactly the same feeds...

Al Kass Feed 2 [VPID 0512/APID 4112/PPID 0512] Biss
