ideas for buffet

i was just wonderin if any1 out there is able 2 help plz? i'm havin an evening wedding reception at the wkend and needed sum idea as 2 wot i can do for the buffet?

Chicken drumsticks (make sure they are cooked!)
Cocktail sausages
Cheese and pineapple sticks
Various dips inc coleslaw
Celery sticks
Tortilla chips
Undressed salad but leave the bits separate (not every one will like tomatoes, cucumber, carrot etc)
Mixed cooked meats
Quiches
Scotch eggs
Pork pies

A nice dip recipe is to grate approx 25g of cucumber. Strain most of the water off the grated cucumber by wrapping in a clean tea towel and squeezing it. Then mix the cucumber with approx 150g of low fat soft cheese and 150g of Greek yoghurt. (should keep for a few days if kept refridgerated).
 
At the last 2 weddings I've been to, they had bacon rolls at the buffet....what a corking idea, rolls and bacon are just the ticket when you've been boozing most of the day.

Chocolate fountains seem to be flavour of the month as well now.
 
Train a small hedgehog to walk around the table.

You can them stick small cubes of cheese to it's quills.
This would be an excellent conversation piece as well as providing small snacks for the guests. :banana:

A big bowl of plain chicken curry and a big bowl of rice is always handy for the drunk blokes and also i tried a few differnt items at my sons birthday like indian snacks samosas and bahjis etc with dips you dont have to stick to the english plain stuff veriety is good

can i come im starving thinking about it lol

they are quite cheap to hire these days.

apart from that the good old

pmsl, but then he'd need to pay to get all the fleas removed from the guest nice new suits and the brides dress.
 
I took all my guests to a chinese buffet resturaunt :)
 
Depends how creative you are going to be if there is going to be a theme for the buffet i.e. Chinese, Indian, Italian etc...

Latest buffet I've been to had most of the following:

Cake/Jelly
 
Youre In The North East Krazy. Theres a butchers in the Viking Centre in South shields/Jarrow

That sells Kangaroo, Snake , Byson Crockodile etc It also sells South African/Rhodesian sausage called Boerewors, It comes in a long single piece like cumberland ring but with a spicier taste. excellent chopped into smaller byte size bits and put on a stick.
