Building a house at the moment and was looking for some advise.

What kind of cables should I be using for surround sound/speaker system?

Is it possible that I can have all the tv boxes e.g sat, Android etc.. in one room and then run cables to another room. I know it's possible to run HDMIs and all that but I would need to know can you run just HDMI cable and put the ends on yourself?
