help wid sb4100 wont work even wid my subed mac !!!

ive had a sb4100 that ive used for my 360 for ages

recently it went off , i had to wait for some macs so i just left it !!
Now it still logs onto http://192.168.100.1/hack.html
sorry i dont recall what software i put on it !!!
any way when i enter the new mac in the HFC MAC Address and update it
it takes the mac then i reboot and it just shows me the power and receive light steady and a flashing online no activity light

so i assumed the macs where duff so i used my mac from my subed box ,still the same i cant get a connection . what am i doing wrong !!!

if you mean to the cable it is !! if your talking about pc thats also direct no router
its strange !!!
i traded macs and the ones i sent work
you dont think it could be the ones sent to me are not working in my area ??

as i say i can get on the hack page and change the mac ....
is there any other settings i should change ??

Update

I had a thought after your post and so i got a huge lan cable out and wired the modem to the 1st feed in the house and guess what the !!!!
its on and working ive spent a good few hours fooking about
Im feel so pissed off lol !!!
would you be so kind as to tell me why my new modem works fine on this cable but the Sb4100 wont !!!!!
i bet the orig mac addy in there was fine it had been on for ages !!
just i had not used it coz my 360 got banned !!!

i guess the lines a bit shity and has prob got wet or something
is it down to signal drop ???

my subbed modem works just fine on the 2nd line
