Help, i keep getting hacked

I’m sure some of you have read my recent threads about me and the ex over a custody battle? Well two weeks ago my Facebook and 2 Hotmail accounts were hacked. When i recovered my Facebook account all friends were deleted but private messages were still there apart from one (some evidence i had against my ex regarding her past best friend she beat up), and all my emails deleted.

Well i got one of my Hotmail accounts back but they refused one of them as not enough details was given. I changed all the passwords, secret question, made a new Hotmail account for Facebook and set alerts via sms messages if I’m logged in through a different computer.

Well today at around 15:00 i had a text saying "home logged into your Facebook account, check your email for instructions", well i could not get into my new email either, i had a phone call of my cousin saying "why have you typed that on your account", i said "it’s been hacked, I’m trying to get it back".

Well i got it back and saw some messages only she would know like "i only got 4 hours with my son a week, cafcass must of saw through me", there was a few more making me look like i didn’t do good in court and feel I’ve lied and been caught.

Well i screenshot them, then deleted them as well as others on other peoples posts. Whilst doing this i had another text message saying "hygt" has logged into your Facebook etc." well again all my Hotmail’s have been hacked.

I made sure i hide all of the personal info including emails. She is not that bright so she must have someone doing this, my concern is one of my original emails i used for my insurance, internet banking etc.

Is there anything i can do legally?

p.s of course i phoned my solicitor and explained the sad excuse of an ex and what was said, i bet you she brings that facebook messages she wrote on my account with her next time in court.

I dont know about the legal side but you can set fb up so you get a code text to you everytime you login to confirm its you.

yeah i have and it says your have "****" logged into your facebook, if this wasnt auth, check your email instuctions and again my emails been hacked

can't comment on the legal side of things, but you need to figure how this keeps reoccuring

1) Do you log on to the same computer all the time?
2) Do you have strong passwords? (mixature of Uppercase / numbers )
3) Wipe your computer completely and start fresh. Wouldn't rely on a Anti Virus alone to find a trojan, which could be logging all your key strokes..

Hey mate, backup your ESSENTIAL files, and reformat. When you've setup your operating system again, first scan those backups with a good antivirus to make sure they're clean. Now get your hotmail accounts back, they're the weak link as she or someone she knows is using that email to request a password reset. Once you have secured them with UNIQUE LONG passwords unrelated to your life and with plenty of numbers in them, then you should be fine. Also, a good trick is to make up a sentence e.g I hate my ex wife, she's a bitch - and turn it into your password, which would be IHMEW,SAB321123 < that would be more than enough. Main thing is to make sure the computer you use is not keylogged, which the reformat will sort out. If you can't get your account back via the web service, due to insufficient detail or whatever, call them up and explain how you've got your insurance details in there etc and prove that you're the account owner. i feel for you mate, but in all honisty i would disable the account until the battle is over, that way nothing can be held against you if something is said in the heat of the moment.
This woman sounds desperate to me, cutting all forms of communitcation is the best course, thats what solicitors are for.
You also need to make sure your accessing your email accounts though https not just http, and as already mentioned WIPE your machine,
Last year i had my gmail account hacked 3x in less than a month, my virus killer found nowt and panda online found nowt. My access to gmail is a hex conversion of a massive password so is not somthing that can be brute forced. After a factory reset my account hasnt been hacked since??!!.
On the legal side, its plain and simple - its illegal to hack an account. But the proving side of it is the hard bit.

If i was in your shoes i know its a real pain, but i would dump my old email accounts and make new accounts so she has no idea, she has obviously been able to access one or the other, most likely the email then that has given her full reign on your farcebook account.

sounds like you have a RAT and keylogger on your pc...

there probably watching you on your webcam too.

RAT wouldnt really show up either if they made it FUD.

REFORMAT ANY OR ALL PC'S, THEN CHANGE PASSWORDS.

obviously it has to be related to her because comments where made using my account saying stuff about the court case only me my family and her lot know, ive opened 4 or 5 hotmails and changed the facebook details several times yet they still get in, im not wireless and i thought keylogger only works on wireless?

no mate, viruses/loggers are not specific to a network connection, its the computer thats affected.

use a seperate unlreated computer to change passwords while you sort out yours. Change passwords for any website/account you have logged into using the computer. including.. DW!

just tried logging into my ebay and even that been changed, wow. I did change it down my mates yet it was changed within a few minutes so i rushed back home.

WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE UNLESS HE DOES THE EMAIL ADDYS FIRST (after format), when he changes passwords they will be emailed to his acc which they will have access to... so he could change his ebay acc at a mates and they still can change it as it will have email confirmation to an acc they have access to.

plus if he changes it on another pc if he is being logged then the minute he types it into his pc to login they have it.

reformat pc is a must the RAT and or keylogger will be virtually impossible to find. reformat then change passwords to email addys first then any websites you use.

The amount of people I've seen with questions like place of birth or favourite food etc...

People who know you will know the answers to these questions easily. Make sure your security questions are as obscure as possible, or rotate your answers

I.E favourite food = East Keswick
Place of birth = Chicken Tikka

This is very true. Didn't obama's yahoo account get hacked this way before he became president. The answers to his personal questions could be found in public domain.

would spy bot or maluware bites not detect loggers and the like and get rid ?
she cannot use the face crap in court now you have informed sol that you are being hacked it has been logged with them time and date also get sol to send letter out telling her that account has been hacked and police has been informed or even better get sol to phone her sol and explain that police are investigating hacking and possible charges are to follow and if their client is involved then this will affect the case

My yahoo.co.uk email account got hacked, i changed the password, the secondary email, security questions - and it got re-done a few days later. in the end, i closed the account, i couldn't keep it as mine anymore so it was better to shut it down. Turns out, i had the same password for my Steam account which is what was hacked first ( i didn't have any purchased games on so wasn't bothered but managed to get that back )

Ha ha very good question. It was a on-going joke at our local after one of my friends used my phone to post messages on Facebook they also registered me to a few obscene groups. In jest I said I'd get him back so I did I hacked Hotmail(although u could hardly call it that, more social engineering than anything else) reset his Facebook password etc and had my fun (few naughty pics of him drunk etc....

Anyway this became a little game at our local and in the end I'd done 8 As they were saying you'll never get into mine my password is really complex etc etc..

Although the last chap was hard I'd only known him since he was 29 so didn't know what his first pet was, rather than being blatant and asking him in the pub (at this stage they wasn't aware I was simply answering the security questions) I sent him the email viral that asked for you first pets name plus something else to give you your porn star name(cheesy I know but 2 days later he'd answered it and that was number 8.

I did explain to them all afterwards and never did anything malicious in the process (well not really although one pic was bad lol)
This was a few years ago but still it’s the easiest form of entry especially Hotmail etc..
All email addy’s where obtained via Facebook profiles 

Regarding your banking there is a program called trusteer rapport which a few banks use for extra security Trusteer Rapport | Trusteer some banks actually insist on it if you are online banking of course some banks will have there own software as well for extra security.

Well I have formatted, installed windows 7 ultimate again, i was using virgin security but I am using zone alarm extreme security now, I always preferred zone alarm. I have closed two of my Hotmail replacements down; I’ve regained my one which was related to my bank statements, insurance etc but everything has been deleted. I contacted ebay by phone, got my account back all reset with my gmail account, I have a new email, Nothing has happened so far.

I know for a fact it is not her directly doing this as she has no computer knowledge and her bf seems a bit thick to know this type of stuff. But again the Facebook comments that they used my profile to write on, shows that person knows the court case and recent results.

I did inform my solicitor anyway just in case she comes out in a mediation or court with "look what my ex has been putting on his Facebook clearly showing he has been trying to set me up etc.". Very sad to see people go to this level.
