Help!. audio description i cant turn it off

I got a really old pace ditv-1000 and it says cable and wireless on it and its running ancient software but the audio description is permanently on and i dont know how to turn it off can any one help me. im in an ntl area in glasgow and have tried to force an update but it wont happen. please can anyone help?

have u tried in the settings menu i think its option 8 then option 4

If its on the old CR1 software you cant turn off in menu system and dont know of any way of turning it off, if it wont update, then there may have been a anti-update mod done on the box

is there anyway to reverse the anti update mod?

depends how its been moded i think, the way ive seen is the simm chip near the front of the box inside had 2 of the chips disconnected on one side of each of the chips ,after a bit of careful soldering and making sure you havnt soldered 2 pins together(cause they are close lol) it did update
