i recently bought a pc.it has a headphone socket at the front where the cdr drive is but no sound comes through the headphones how do you able sound for the headphone socket

This one looks like it came from the 'customer service training manual'.
If you have an audio disk in the drive and the phones aren't faulty, and the volume control (next to where you plugged the phones in) is turned up. It should work. If you are trying to listen to the system sounds that way. You cannot do that in my experience.
