I have a Geforce 2 mx 200 agp card in my machine now and I run a few fast graphic simulators like SUB COMMAND, SILENT HUNTER II and PROJECT IGI.

what happens is these games only run 50 % of the time.

Some times they run great other times the intros play and when it comes time to actually play the game the system locks up.
my driver is 4.13.01.1290..

any help would be great..
thanx.

Hi taff sorry for the delay i think most of us are suffering from christmas spirit or still having it

what do you mean these games only run sometimes ??? does the rest of your specs reach minimum standars fro the game, sometimes i have trouble because i have other applications running invisable so i check to see with ctrl, alt, delete and close them annoying apps... worth a try

What I should try Taff is getting rid of all of the current drivers that u may have for that particular graphics caard. Restart and then reinstall. Please read Help files that came with it. Someting I avoid like most folk.

My system is an Athlon 1700 XP with 512 of DDR Ram, i have over 40 gig of hard disk space, my system should be able to cope with any game on the market.
The graphics card is the 64 mb model

What I mean that the game only runs sometimes is I run the software and there is a ratio of about 50 % whether the game executes corectly or locks up my system

One thing though when the intros are finished and I try to play there is a series of clicks and screen flickers ..almost as if the resolution is being changed...

hope this give more info for my help
I have tried closing all non essential programs when running ang that does not help either

regards Taff

hi m8 it sounds like your graphic's card driver. have the makers of the games you play got a web site? If so take a look sometimes you can find info about drivers or give the game makers a ring they will help if they can. Also you could try download different drivers for your card and try them i have found this works sometimes.

Hi m8, driver wise I'd just go get the latest Detonator drivers from Nvidia....other than that, what the apperture size in the BIOS set to? Is it set to 4x, have you got fast write enabled?..have a look in the BIOS
Have Fun

u could also try reinstalling dx8a
this might cure it and as someone mentioned earlier goto the games website and check for compatability problems

I installed the latest detenator drivers from nvidia and all game run every time now, still a few bugs to iron out but thanx again.

regards to all for advice and help
