Google android 2.2 internet hdmi hd tv box

Hi there

I am looking for a media player that will play all the normal formats ie avi, mkv but able to surf the web freely useing a browser and also stream video from the internet,]

I have done some searching and come up with this, what do you guys think and has anyone got one, what do they preform like?

About the same specs as my tablet. might struggle with high bit rate HD and browsing might be a little slow. Also multitasking might be difficult.

I would spend a bit more and get an atom based unit running W7 with XBMC.

I went for an eMachine ER1401 Desktop. It screws nicely to the back on the tv and use teamviewer to control it remotely. Costly slightly more but I think it was worth it.

Mmmm yeah been looking at some of the eMachine ER1401 Desktop and they look good for the job.

Looks like it works well with xbmc

Mine came with linpus but couldnt get used to it so loaded win7 and works great. Few months back is was on special offer on ebuyer at £119. Loaded xbmc and use app on ipad/iphone as a remote control for it.

why not do what I did, buy a second hand small form factor PC from ebay and stick a HDMI graphics card in it.
personally I think it's the only way to have 'proper' web browsing

^^^ This, How about this Core2 Dell 755 SFF. Comes with DVD-RW as well. Blow the pants of any low power PC.

Just need to add a £30 low profile HD graphics card like ATI 5450.
