This is the exact same model as the 2015 and the smaller 2017 the specs have not changed, they have just released the Android Oreo 8 update which brings new features to all the current shield models including the 2015 version

Was going to say that's just like the one I've just bought for £179. Very similar specs.

I've had around 23 android (and other tv boxes/media players) over the last 5 years or so, and some tiny PC's. This Nvidia Shield has, so far, out performed the lot of them. Plus we've just got a 4k tv with HDR and it works a treat.

I don't like the touch panel volume control though, I prefer proper buttons.

Didn't know about the android 8 upgrade though.
